Acorn fish balls and tomato and pepper sauce

A great way to cook fish without frying and lots of added value in and around Patties

8 servings 220 calories per serving

 

 

 

Ingredients for the patties

1 kg minced fresh fish (carp, Aintias any other fish you like. Every department or fish store, well pickled fish for you)

4 tablespoons of oat bran

2 eggs

2 cloves of garlic, crushed

5 green onions, chopped

50 g pine nuts

Salt and pepper to taste. Teaspoon sweet paprika

Sauce ingredients:

Palm oil

2 onions, chopped

1 red pepper, diced

1 yellow pepper, diced

Tin of crushed tomatoes (800 g)

200 grams (2 small cans) tomato paste

2 – 1 – cups water

Teaspoon of brown sugar

Juice of half a lemon

Salt and pepper to taste, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Preparation:

Mix all the ingredients for the patties. Set aside in the refrigerator for at least half an hour. In a large pot cook the onion in oil until golden palm. Add the peppers and cook another few minutes until soft. Add the remaining ingredients mix well and bring to a boil. The amount of water required is such that allows creating a thick sauce. Forming a mixture of fish, with wet hands, meatballs the size of a ping – pong. Gently add the balls into the boiling sauce, one after the other. Lower the heat. Cook for about 40 minutes until the meatballs are cooked. Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
